The butter used by nomadic women in the Sahel for centuries is finally available on our shop. Fulani and Wodabee women call it “nebam nei” and Chadian women call it “dee-heen baggar”. This butter is effective in detangling dry hair before styling and to keep the hair very supple. It is an essential for nomadic women in Africa and you will not be able to go without it. It provides intense softness, manageability and shine to the hair, combined with an anti-frizz effect.

Usage: After wearing a protective style like braids, a wig, or a weave for an extended period, apply a generous amount of product to dry hair to nourish and detangle it. Then, you can proceed with your regular wash day routine.

Ingredients: Butter (milk), Citrus bergamia (Bergamot) Leaf Oil, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) flower oil, Mentha Piperita Oil (Peppermint oil), Melaleuca Alternafolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid.

Awesome product. The only issue is the fermented milk smell is a bit unpleasant and lingers on her satin wrap and pillow case.

Though not the best of smells that's not why I gave it 3 stars. It just didn't keep my hair very moisturised. I'll try adding it to my deep conditioner and see if that works better for me.

My hair and my daughters hair love it ! I personally don’t have any issue with the smell ( actually I like it maybe because I grew in Africa‍♂️) my daughter got use to it and now she likes it too ! But the product itself is amaizing! Smooth hair well hydrated ( I applied it on top of my homemade flaxseeds gel ) and nourished !

Noticed placed on my scalp and hair and it was very easy to comb through the next morning . Folks do not like the smell but I kind of like it - it smell like it is supposed to with natural ingredients such as fermented Butter . It does hydrate my hair . Thank you

I l-o-v-e this product. I have been using Chebe products for a while; I even made my own oils with it before I could purchase them ready made. Your product has really transformed my hair making it moisturized and it curls beautifully. My hair is below my waist and it was getting a little more time consuming to keep looking good. THIS PRODUCT CHANGED THAT! It makes your hair feel and look silky! The downside: My husband hates the smell and complains when I put it in my hair before I wash it out. Question: Can you make it smell better? IF SO, IT WILL BE PERFECT!

I lasted 3 weeks with product on hair and had to completely wash it out. I must say it does everything it says however the SMELL is awful. My husband said it smelled like sour milk which It does contain milk but geez.. My daughters both said it smells like cooked broccoli. I even tried wearing turbans to mask smell and hope, I could litterly smell myself "funk" all day even while at work which made me feel very uncomfortable. I didnt try mixing with other curl cream which helped a little by the smell still lingers & i mean everywhere . Your pillow cases the actual pillow itself, I dont work with it in once you do it's over lol. Great product terrible smell. Good luck ladies and Gents this was definitely a challenge that I failed ‍♀️

The African Nomad Hair Butter has a good blend of ingredients needed for my hair. The only issue for me is the smell is very strong & unpleasant. So, I only use the product when I will be home for a few days, then I wash away before stepping out publicly.

It seems moisturizing however, it smells like spoiled milk. I think it’s the first ingredient in it that is making it hard to tolerate the smell which is the butter (milk). I added lavender essential, it still did not help.

The African Nomads Hair Butter is ok, I've been using it for almost two weeks, but I'm not overly impressed with it. For one thing, the smell is horrible and lingers in your hair. It moisturized my hair ok, but I'll just have to see how it performs long term.

I love this product. This product makes my hair feel really soft, and that’s saying a lot since my hair is coily, gray and I’m going through up and down hormones. I was really surprised that it kept my hair soft for DAYS! I don’t really like the scent, but I get why it smells like it does. So, to help with that I use another product that I have that works really well with this. Even after over a week later, I can spritz my hair and it seems to activate this where my hair is super soft…I mean REALLY! I can’t emphasize that enough. That also makes me have HIH (hair-in-hand) syndrome. With every product I have purchased from this wonderful company, I have NOT been disappointed. I’m definitely going to buy more.
